Much More Than Migration

For this interesting project our class was instructed to interview a migrant that has migrated since 1965. I chose to interview Luciel Baisset. I met Luciel in my public speaking class this semester. She is 18 years old and was born in Toulouse, France in 1990. Lucile kindly agreed to let me interview her and let me into her life.

Our interview was in English, although Lucile is fluent in both English and French. She hopes also be fluent in Spanish as well. We met in Starbucks in Fletcher Library on the West Campus. I think that it was a great place to be because there were people around, but we had privacy to talk freely. Both of us felt comfortable talking to one another and by the end of the interview, we were laughing and had a very nice time.

Migration is a very different experience for everyone. To Lucile migrating to the United States was not her choice, it was her parents. Lucile's story is an amazing one that opened my eyes to a new side of migration. I hope you enjoy it.
